Why families choose us
I personally vet every family and return every call.
I'm Eric. I've spent 25+ years in education as a math teacher, an administrator, and a high school STEAM coordinator in the New York City Tri-State area. I've been featured on NPR and worked directly with the College Board. But none of that matters as much as this: I personally vet every family and find the right fit for what they actually need.
Whether that's a tutor, a coach, a consultant, or a full support plan, it's never a random match. We don't believe in one size fits all. We believe in one size fits one, right down to our signature 15-minute Significant Sprint Sessions when that's exactly the size of help your kid actually needs.

My son, a senior taking challenging AP and honors courses, worked with tutors from Significant Educators for math and biology. His confidence grew tremendously, his test scores improved, and he made high honor roll. The tutors were supportive, professional, and genuinely invested in his success.

I also have four kids of my own. Four completely different learners. One needed structure. One needed confidence. One needed someone to just believe in her. I know there's no one-size-fits-all fix, because I've lived it at my own kitchen table.
That's the whole philosophy behind Significant Educators: it's about the relationship, not the transaction.

Tutoring: Grade 3 Through College
They're falling behind and I don't know how to catch them up.
Whether it's math, reading, writing, science, or a specific class that's turning into a nightly battle, our tutors, the vast majority certified educators, meet your student exactly where they are. Not where the textbook says they should be.
What your kid walks away with:
Real understanding, not just finished homework
Confidence that carries into the next test, and the next class
A tutor who's the right personality fit, not just the right subject expert
SAT, ACT, SHSAT, or another specialized high school exam, we'll help you figure that out first. We don't put your kid into a program, we build one around them. Full test support, section-specific help, math-only prep, reading and writing strategy, even 15-minute Significant Sprint Sessions when that's all they need. Mix and match whatever actually fits, because your kid shouldn't have to fit the program. The program should fit them.
SIE, Series 7, LSAT, MCAT, firefighter exams, and other licensing tests. This isn't tutoring for a class, it's preparation for a career-defining moment. We focus on content mastery, pacing, study planning, accountability, and the confidence to walk in and perform.

Student success
Student Success Quick Start
My kid is smart. They're just disorganized, and I don't know how much help we actually need.
If any of this sounds like your house, Quick Start is for you:
“They wait until the last minute.”
“We need help, but we're not ready for something big.”
“We just want a better system before things get worse.”
Quick Start is a 3 session, targeted program that builds real structure, planning, and follow-through, fast. It works great as a standalone reset, or as a companion to tutoring for an extra boost, a strong way to kick things off and amplify everything that comes after.
“Executive functioning” is a clinical label. We prefer to talk about what it actually looks like at home: missed assignments, last-minute cramming, and a kid who's overwhelmed by their own workload.
Student Success Coaching is ongoing support that builds:
A system for tracking assignments that actually gets used
Real planning skills for long-term projects
Routines that reduce the daily chaos
A student who follows through without being nagged
It works well on its own, or paired with tutoring for a stronger, more complete kind of support.
My son, a senior taking challenging AP and honors courses, worked with tutors from Significant Educators for math and biology. His confidence grew tremendously, his test scores improved, and he made high honor roll. The tutors were supportive, professional, and genuinely invested in his success.

NextStage Support
Every big academic transition comes with a hidden cliff. NextStage gets your kid ahead of it before they fall off.
Middle School NextStage — For students about to juggle multiple teachers, more homework, and way more independence than they're used to.
High School NextStage — For students who are about to find out that “good enough” study habits don't cut it anymore.
College Launch — Two hours. One workshop. Everything your student needs before move-in day. High school manages you. College means you manage yourself, and most students don't find that out until it's too late. Our College Launch Workshop walks students through the four skills that actually matter (reading a syllabus, building a semester calendar, real study habits, and talking to professors like an adult), then closes with an unscripted Q&A with two current college sophomores who just lived through it.
Students leave with a Syllabus Decoder Sheet, a Semester Calendar, a Weekly Planning Template, a First Two Weeks Plan, Professor Email Templates, and a Day 1 Checklist. Spots are limited to 15 students per session.

Four times a year, you sit down directly with me. We look at the big picture: academic trajectory, course selection, whether the current support is actually working, and what comes next. Should we add something, pull back, or stay the course? Is your kid on track for where they need to be in a year, or in three? No middleman, no guessing. Just direct access to 25+ years of experience, pointed at your kid's actual path forward.
We're not even sure what the right path is. We just know the current one isn't it.

Eric and his team are by far, second to none. My son, a senior in HS, taking very challenging AP and honors level courses, has been working with Tad for math and Jessica for Biology. Tad has a gift for breaking down complex calculus concepts in a way that finally clicks—my son’s confidence has grown tremendously, and his test scores have reflected that. Jessica brings incredible clarity and enthusiasm to AP Biology. She’s patient, thorough, and knows exactly how to help him master challenging units and prepare strategically for exams. Beyond their subject expertise, both tutors are supportive, professional, and genuinely invested in my son’s success. They’ve helped reduce his stress and given him the tools to excel during a very demanding senior year. Additionally, my son just received his 1st quarter grades and made high honor roll thanks to Significant Educators. I highly recommend this tutoring company to any parent with a college-bound student. The quality of instruction and personal attention have made all the difference!

Best Tutor ever Mr. Sigman is a wonderful tutor, and I feel very blessed and delighted that my daughter has the opportunity to work with him. Nowadays, it is hard to find someone full of passion, dedication, and skills to pass the knowledge. Mr. Eric is very unique because he can convey knowledge in a fantastic way. His approach to students is wonderful, and the kids simply love him. They feel that they finally have someone on their side. Someone they can trust, open up, and be themselves. Most importantly is that Mr. Eric ways of teaching and guidance give our children confidence, and they start believing that they can achieve success. They are happy to come and learn and even do extra work at home. There is not enough good words I could say about Mr. Sigman, but I’m very grateful from the bottom of my heart for his support and always finding time for me and my daughter. I strongly recommend Mr. Eric and his group of teachers, including Natalia, who currently help my daughter with SAT. Thank you

Highly recommend: I was so relieved when we found Eric to tutor my daughter in high school geometry, she was really struggling specifically with proofs, and her class grades were slipping. We started working with him a few months ago, and the transformation has been incredible. Eric has a genuine talent for explaining difficult concepts in a clear, patient way that actually sticks. He breaks everything down step by step, uses helpful examples she can relate to, and never makes her feel rushed or silly for asking questions. He is encouraging, always positive, and tailors the sessions perfectly to what she’s covering in school. Her confidence has grown tremendously, her homework and test scores have improved a lot. Eric is reliable with scheduling, comes prepared every time, and genuinely cares about her progress.

I am incredibly grateful for Eric Sigman working with my son on PreCal class . In just a few sessions, my son went from scoring in the 40s on his tests so far this school year to earning a 75 on his midterm this week. The improvement in such a short amount of time speaks volumes about the Eric’s ability to explain concepts clearly, build confidence, and meet students where they are. My son is already more engaged and less anxious about math. If this is the progress I’m seeing after only a few sessions, I can only imagine the results after meeting twice a week over the next few months. I highly recommend this tutoring service to any parent looking for real results. Give it a try for a few months and I know you will be pleased with the results.

We had a fantastic experience with Significant Educators! Eric’s customer service was outstanding from start to finish. When the first tutor wasn’t the right fit, he quickly found a second tutor at no additional cost. Both tutors were excellent however it was simply a matter of finding the right style that matched our needs. What really stood out was Eric’s approach. As a parent himself, he genuinely understood our concerns and offered thoughtful guidance without ever making us feel like we were being sold a service. He truly cared about finding the right fit for our family. I highly recommend Significant Educators to anyone looking for quality tutoring, and exceptional customer service!

We are new to the American system and the standardized testing here so we needed a bit of help. We have had a few sessions so far in Math SAT prep and already we see a difference. With 5 sessions so far my child has grown in knowledge and confidence. Tad seems to be understand her personality and keeps her focused at task. She knows what to work on and actually looks forward to her lessons. Eric was fantastic to talk to. I spoke to him at length and it really felt that someone was willing to share my mental load. I would highly recommend Significant Educators. It's like having partners towards a common goal.

Our child has worked with Eric at Significant Educators for both enrichment as well as for help with a challenging math curriculum. As a career educator, Eric quickly identifies a student's learning style and makes math a fun and achievable challenge while building confidence. Beyond being a great math teacher, he is patient, good-humored and an excellent communicator. The range of options for classes is also great--from short, mini-classes to longer more in-depth sessions. Highly recommend.
